Embodied Work with Horses through trust and connection
Learn from a horse-centered, somatic approach.
When we enter a partnership with horses through consent, listening, self-awareness, and integrity, we unlock curiosity and connection—in ourselves and our equine partners. In these small-group cohorts, you learn how to work with horses through relational principles, rather than control, training, or compliance.
Each module consists of 6 weekly sessions for 2 hours each. Participants start with Module 1 and upon completion can opt to continue to the next modules.
The Arc of Learning
Module 1: Safety, Agency, and Choice
In the first module you will learn how to safely be with the herd in freedom; hold ground and embody a clear “yes” and “no”; practice making requests and honoring consent; learn how to be a sturdy and trustworthy leader; and care for the horses in a way that honors their dignity and agency.
Module 2: Trust and Communication
In the second module you will build upon the skills of Module 1, moving into the realm of trust and clear, consistent communication. We will practice leading outside of the farm, learn beginning groundwork skills, and, if horse and human are ready, mounting in freedom.
Module 3: Partnership and Attunement
When both horse and human are grounded, present, and actively listening to each other, a real partnership forms. Module 3 reinforces and deepens the practices of module 2, expanding into more advanced groundwork, and riding with support and independently.
Experience
"I absolutely loved this program! Module 1 provided a wonderful introduction to natural horse keeping and the concepts of trust, agency, and choice in the horse-human partnership. Amanda’s facilitation was exceptional, she’s a true expert in this work, creating a safe and supportive space for exploration and learning. Also the location was stunning, which added to the overall experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a deeper connection with themselves, others, and these magnificent animals."
